Coffee, tea, or me? (by Wilson Wong)

“Coffee, tea, or me” we always heard this slogan in movies. Honestly, coffee and tea these two things are a part of Hong Kong people life, In this recent years, a lot of café shops were opened in Hong Kong, but the locations of those café shops were not opened on the grand floor, it was located inside the buildings, not only first floor, second floor, but also upper floors as well. However when you looked back the past ten years, seldom of cafe shops were opened in Hong Kong, so why would it grown up in Hong Kong quickly?

“Coffee”, always keep people awake. Starbucks, pacific coffee, are the most famous coffee shops in Hong Kong. Most of the people in Hong Kong had tried their coffee already. When you are tired, drink a coffee, it can keeps you awake. In Hong Kong, a lot of workers work almost ten hours a day, a drink can keep them awake is very important to them, finally, coffee seems is a part of our life, we can separate it.

 “Tea”, should be English tea, it is a traditional drink for Western. In the past, Hong Kong was not popular of drinking English tea, because Chinese tea was more familiar than English tea. In these few years, café shops are not only sell coffee, they sell different kinds of drinks too, for example, apple juice with honey, tea with green apple juice, milk tea etc. this is one of the selling points of café shops to maintain their “life” in Hong Kong,

Another point why the café shops can maintain since they faced a lot of competitors is every shops has their own style of decoration, different topics, different themes, so people will not feel bored. The special decoration, setting, and the entertainments in the shops can attract people. So they are not easy to be eliminated, and started popular now.

“Me”, it can be said as “my feeling”. If someone ask me which one do you prefer, coffee shops or café shops? I will tell you just depend. Both of them have their own advantages, coffee shops can provide a standard quality of drinks, and the price is not expensive, however, café shop can provide an unique style of decoration, it will not boring me when I go different café shops. Based on these two different advantages of coffee shops and café shops, they won’t have conflict of each others, that is why both of them can be survived, and keep the popularity. 

I love to go coffee shops or cafe shops to spend the time with my friends, family, not only having a nice chat, sharing the feeling and things to them, but also I can enjoy the great atmosphere round there! Looking with the decoration, chatting with my lovely friends and family, how great is it!
