Thai cuisine in Thailand

28 Aug

I have been traveled to Thailand last week. Hong Kong’s Thai cuisine accommodates Hong Kong people. Thai cuisine is famous in Hong Kong. Before go to Thailand, I had been try Thai cuisine many times in Kowloon city. Hong Kong’s Thai cuisine and Thailand Thai cuisine has a lot of difference.

I had tried much food in Thailand. Like Tom yam, Tom yam is Thailand’s famous hot and sour soup originates . With shrimp it is called tom yam goong or tom yam kung, with seafood (typically shrimp, squid, fish) tom yam talae and with chicken tom yam gai.

I had try Som tam plara. Som tam plara is grated papaya salad with salted gourami fish, white eggplants, fish sauce and long beans. Variations include: som tam poo with salted black crab and som tam Thai with peanuts, dried shrimp and palm sugar.

Also, I try Pad tai. Pad Tai is one of Thailand’s best known noodle dishes. It is eaten as a light meal at any time of the day or night, and is especially popular at the night markets throughout the country.

Boo jah is delicious too. It is crab cakes with pork, garlic and pepper served with a simple spicy sauce such as Sri Rachaa sauce, sweet-hot garlic sauce, nahm prik pao (roasted chili paste) or red curry paste and chopped green onions.

After the trip, I had discovered many things. Firstly, In Hong Kong, Thai cuisine is more moderate. Hong Kong people are not favor with the spicy food. In Thailand, Thai cuisine is harmony of tastes and herbal flavors are essential. Major tastes are sour, sweet and salty. Spiciness comes in different degrees according to meat textures and occasions. Secondly, Hong Kong Thai restaurant always provide the chopstick. In Thailand, Thai food is eaten with a fork and spoon. Even single dish meals such as fried rice with pork, or steamed rice topped with roasted duck, are served in bite-sized slices or chunks obviating the need for a knife. The spoon is used to convey food to the mouth.

Although Globalization is happen in Thailand, Thailand cuisine is still dominant Thailand. KFC and McDonald can found in Thailand. Both of them add some Thailand cuisine in the menu. KFC had green curry rice in the menu. McDonald had the Thai spicy chicken wing in the menu.
